Middle School Teacher (Grade 7-8)

Academic Year: 2026–2027

Position Overview

Halifax Christian Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Middle School Teacher to support students during a critical stage of academic and personal development. The ideal candidate will foster critical thinking, independence, and a love for learning while integrating faith into subject instruction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver subject-specific instruction aligned with the Nova Scotia curriculum
  • Engage students through interactive, inquiry-based, and technology-supported learning
  • Support students’ academic, emotional, and spiritual growth
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs
  • Assess, evaluate, and report on student progress
  • Maintain effective classroom management and a respectful learning environment
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and participate in student support planning
  • Collaborate with faculty and contribute to school initiatives
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school community events

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent
  • Valid teaching certification (Nova Scotia certification preferred or eligible)
  • Subject specialization (preferred for middle school level)
  • Experience teaching middle school students is an asset
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
  • Commitment to Christian education and alignment with the mission and vision of Halifax Christian Academy
  • Ability to inspire and engage students in both academic and faith development
  • Must be in Canada and must have a valid work permit (if not a Permanent Resident or Citizen)
