Position Overview

Halifax Christian Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary School Teacher who is committed to nurturing the academic, social, and spiritual development of young learners. The successful candidate will create a positive, engaging classroom environment and support the school’s mission and vision through Christ-centered teaching and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Nova Scotia curriculum
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
• Integrate Christian values and biblical principles into daily teaching
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate academic records
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student learning and development
• Collaborate with colleagues, resource teachers, and administration
• Utilize technology and interactive tools (including educational games) to enhance learning
• Participate in school events, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent
• Valid teaching certification (Nova Scotia certification preferred or eligible)
• Experience teaching at the elementary level is an asset
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Commitment to Christian education and alignment with the mission and vision of Halifax Christian Academy
• Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
• Must be in Canada and should possess a valid work permit
